Las Vegas, NV - A five-run second wasn't enough for the 51's but they scored four runs over their final three innings to put away the Mariners affiliate.The bats got the job done for three wins south of the border while the pitching down in the Dominican led to another victory on a 4-2 night for the affiliates.

Batting - Only Raul Chavez didn't get a hit. Mike McCoy and Callix Crabbe "slacked off" by only managing one hit apiece. Everyone else had two or greater. Jarrett Hoffpauir had a two-run homer and a walk while Brett Wallace connected for a three-run bomb. J.P. Arencibia had three hits and a walk but his only extra-base hit was not a homer but a double. That'll do, I suppose!
Running - McCoy and Dan Perales added one to their stolen base totals.
Pitching - Lefty Brad Mills gave up five runs (four earned) over six innings but he still picked up the "W". He gave up six hits and two walks while uncorking a wild pitch but he did rack up five K's. Josh Roenicke gave up a run on two hits over 2 2/3 innings but punched out three Rainiers to earn a hold. Jeremy Accardo got the final batter of the game to earn his 17th save.
Defence - Hoffpauir had trouble handling one at second while Aaron Matthews threw one away in right field.
Manchester, NH - The Red Sox affiliate scored all of their runs over the first six innings before calling the dogs off. The Fisher Cats made it a 6-4 game before Portland pounded out five runs in the fourth to salt this one away.
Batting - Travis Snider homered and drove in four runs as part of a two-hit night. Adam Loewen and Brian Jeroloman also contributed a pair of hits each and yes, the BJBBM increased by one as Jeroloman has 63 walks on the year. Shawn Bowman had one hit, one walk and one HBP while Darin Mastroianni doubled and walked. Adeiny Hechavarria and Eric Thames each had an extra-base hit with a double. David Cooper went 0-for-4 while Jonathan Diaz was 0-for-3 with a plunk.
Running - Thames was thrown out trying to stretch his double into a triple.
Pitching - Rei Gonzalez was lit up for 11 runs (9 earned) over 3 1/3 innings. He gave up 11 hits, five walks and only struck out one but six of his outs touched green. Ronald Uviedo gave up two runs (one earned) over 2 2/3 innings on five hits, including a homer. However, his K-BB mark was 5-COB! Former Expos first round pick Clint Everts pitched three shutout frames as he yielded just two hits while striking out three.
Defence - Diaz dropped one at second, Gonzalez threw one away on a pickoff attempt, Uviedo dropped one and Hechavarria booted one.
Dunedin, FL - A four-run second and a two-run sixth helped the D-Jays nail the Hammerheads, a Marlins affiliate.
Batting - Welinton Ramirez and Mark Sobolewski had three hits apiece with Ramirez collecting two doubles and three runs batted in. Brian Van Kirk and Travis d'Arnaud had two hits each with Van Kirk going deep and d'Arnaud picking up a double. Jon Del Campo had a hit and a walk while Ryan Goins and Mike McDade had a hit each. Chris Hopkins reached base once by taking ball four while Justin McClanahan took one for the team.
Running - Del Campo and Ramirez each pilfered a base but Ramirez was also caught once.
Pitching - Henderson Alvarez gave up three runs over five innings by allowing six hits, two walks and hitting a batter but he struck out seven to gain the victory. Lefty Frank Gailey earned a hold by allowing a run on three hits over 2 1/3 innings but struck out three batters. Ross Buckwalter wound up with one K over two-thirds of a scoreless inning. Matt Daly struck out a man during a perfect ninth to earn his 21st save of the campaign.
Defence - Gailey had trouble with a comebacker to the mound and Sobolewski threw one away at third. Alvarez and d'Arnaud had one stolen base against them but Ramirez threw out a runner at third from right field.
Lansing - Scheduled Day Off.
Jamestown, NY - The Marlins affiliate scored four in the second but the D-Days responded with seven consecutive runs before the Jammers tied it with a three-run seventh. Auburn responded with the winning run in the eighth.
Batting - Jonathan Jones supplied three hits at the top of the order while Gustavo Pierre did the same at the bottom but he also drew a walk to reach base four times. Oliver Dominguez and Jack Murphy had two hits and a walk each while Matthew Nuzzo got a hit and got hit. Carlos Perez had a three-run double, Lance Durham had a hit and Marcus Knecht got to hear the home plate umpire say ball four.
Running - Pierre stole two bases.
Pitching - Drew Hutchinson gave up four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings but had a K-BB total of 5-0 and a GO-FO ratio of 8-1. Travis Garrett gave up two unearned runs on two hits over two innings but he did strike out three batters. Shawn Griffith blew the save by giving up a homer among his two hits and also issued a walk but he managed to get the victory over his one inning of work. Dayton Marze nailed down the save by getting all four men he faced while striking out two.
Defence - Durham bobbled one at first while the Jammers stole a base against the Garrett-Murphy tandem.

Dunedin, FL - The Tigers scored in the third and that was the difference after both teams traded runs in the fifth.
Batting - Golly! "Slick" Arthur Charles and Melvin Garcia supplied two-thirds of the G-Jays hit total with two safeties apiece. Garcia's hits were of the two-base variety. Cody Lassley had a triple and was hit by a pitch while Carlos Ramirez collected a pinch-hit single. Matt Abraham and Angel Gomez drew a walk apiece but each of them struck out twice to account for four of the 14 whiffs in total. The G-Jays were 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on.
Running - Ramirez nabbed his first bag of the season. Michael Crouse pinch-ran for Charles in the eighth inning but did not score.
Pitching - Misual Diaz took the loss despite five solid innings in which he gave up two runs on four hits and a walk. However, he struck out seven and induced five groundball outs. Milciades Santana struck out two over two perfect frames. Daniel Barnes allowed two hits over two shutout innings and racked up four K's.
Defence - The Tigers stole a base against the Diaz-Lassley battery.
San Pedro de Macoris, DR - The Braves opened the scoring in the top of the first and it held up until the bottom of the eighth when the Jays rallied for two runs to pull out the win.
Batting - Santiago Nessy ordered the code red on the Braves by doubling home the winning run and he was the only Jay with two hits on the day. Angel Feliz and Aderlin Gonzalez each had a hit and a base on balls while John Delgado singled home a run and was plunked by a pitch. Sony Javier doubled and Angel Rojas singled to round out the hit parade. Maydawin De La Cruz got on base once with a walk while Fausto Natera took one for the team.
Running - Aderlin Gonzalez and Rojas each stole a base. Rojas was caught trying to steal third while Natera was thrown out at second. Leonardo Ferrini pinch-ran for Delgado and scored the winning run.
Pitching - Richard Rodriguez allowed one run over six innings by scattering four hits and two walks while whiffing five. His groundout-flyout totals were 5-6. Victor German earned the win with three scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out one. He was equally democratic and fascist by getting four grounders and four flyballs.
Defence - The Rodriguez-Nessy battery was 1-for-2 in the stolen base department. Feliz had trouble fielding a ball in left.
