Fresno, CA - The 51's scored five times each in the first and third innings in this grisly affair on their way to a giant rout of the huge affiliate. Bonus points for seeing what I just did there!A recently exiled Blue Jay had a big night at the plate and a Jays first round pick earned his first win in high-A ball. Those are the highlights of a 3-3 night on the farm.

Batting - The 51's offence released the kraken to the tune of 16 hits. Edwin Encarnacion had three hits and six runs batted in, including a home run, a double and a walk. Adam Calderone and Mike McCoy also had three-hit nights with Calderone hitting a triple and McCoy getting a two-bagger. J.P. Arencibia and Jeremy Reed had two hits and a walk apiece while Brian Dopirak had a double and two walks. Brad Emaus had two walks but gave way to Luis Figueroa, who added a hit. Aaron Matthews was 0-for-6 but he did score a run. The 51's were 9-for-20 with runners in scoring position.
Running - No need to try for stolen bases when you get 16 hits and eight walks.
Pitching - An easy night for lefty Rommie Lewis as he went the required five innings for the victory. He gave up two first inning runs but that was it as he limited Fresno to three hits and two walks while striking out two. He also totalled eight outs on the grass. Lefty Sean Henn went the rest of the way as he gave up a run on three hits but struck out two and walked no one over four innings for the save. Like Lewis, Henn's groundball/flyball out total was 8-2.
Defence - Encarnacion threw another away for his 5th clank of the year. Reed threw out a runner from center. McCoy and Henn started a 6-4-3 and a 1-4-3 double play respectively.
Manchester, NH - One bad inning cost the Fisher Cats as the R-Phillies did all their damage in the third. New Hampshire had three runs in the fourth and added their last run in the seventh.
Batting - Daniel Perales had the only two-hit night for New Hampshire, including his fifth homer of the year. David Cooper's lone hit was his 11th bomb of the year, a two-run shot, but he is only batting .219. Adam Loewen and Jonathan Diaz had doubles and every starter had one hit except for Brian Jeroloman but he did take one for the team and also drew a walk so the BJBBM is up to 47. However, Jeroloman, Darin Mastroianni and Shawn Bowman struck out two times each to account for 60 percent of New Hampshire's whiffs.
Running - Mastroianni snared his 30th stolen base of 2010.
Pitching - Kyle Drabek struggled for one inning against his former organization. He gave up five runs on five hits and two walks but he did last seven innings, struck out five and induced 10 groundball outs. Alan Farina made his second appearance in the Eastern League one to remember as he allowed just one walk over two scoreless innings while striking out five.
Defence - Jeroloman and Drabek could not keep the Phillies running game in check as they were a perfect 3-for-3 in the stolen base department. Diaz, Manny Mayorson and Cooper teamed up for a 6-4-3 double play.
Dunedin 2 Clearwater 1 (7 Innings)
Dunedin, FL - This game was called with one out in the bottom of the seventh thanks to Mother Nature. Dunedin scored their runs in the first and third innings while the Phillies affiliate responded with their lone run in the sixth.
Batting - Two runs and two walks proved to be just enough for the D-Jays. Michael McDade singled home a Tyler Pastornicky walk and Travis d'Arnaud belted one over the fence for his sixth homer of the year. Brad McElroy was the only other player to get on base with a walk.
Running - Pastornicky stole his 20th base of the year before scoring the game's first run.
Pitching - Chad Jenkins earned his first win in the Florida State League with seven solid innings in which he gave up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five. The worms in Dunedin were in constant danger all night as the 2009 first round pick recorded a baker's dozen outs on the ground.
Defence - Of the 13 groundball outs by Jenkins, six came via the double play ball. Mark Sobolewski started two of the 5-4-3 twin killings with Justin McClanahan and McDade while Pastornicky started a 6-4-3 DP.
Bowling Green, KY - A two-run ninth lifted the Lugnuts to a win over the Rays affiliate.
Batting - Ryan Goins, Sean Ochinko and Kevin Nolan had two hits apiece. Ochinko drove in two runs, Nolan drove in one and Goins scored three times and reached base three times with a walk in addition to his two hits. Kevin Ahrens and Eric Eiland each singled. Kenny Wilson drew two walks while Ryan Schimpf, Yan Gomes and Brad Glenn each drew a walk so every Lugnut got on base at least once.
Running - Wilson stole his 24th base while Goins grabbed number five.
Pitching - Lefty Egan Smith delivered a quality start by going six innings and allowing two runs on six hits and two walks. Despite a balk, Smith racked up nine ground ball outs. Nestor Molina earned the win by allowing one hit and one walk over two shutout innings and all of his outs were on the ground. Steven Turnbull struck out two in a perfect inning to collect the save.
Defence - Goins, Schimpf and Nolan combined their efforts for a 6-4-3 double play.
Williamsport, PA - Three in the first and one in the fifth was the margin of the victory for the Phillies affiliate.
Batting - The D-Days had nine baserunners but only two were base hits. Oliver Dominguez had one of the knocks along with three walks (there's a busta rhyme for ya peeps, word!). Jack Murphy had the other single. Jonathan Jones drew two bases on balls while Carlos Perez and Matt Nuzzo also worked the count to ball four. Randy Schwartz had the golden sombrero at the dish while Marcus Brisker, Gustavo Pierre and Steve McQuail were a combined 0-for-10.
Running - Jones stole a base but Dominguez was thrown out trying to do the same.
Pitching - Drew Hutchinson allowed three runs in four innings by yielding four hits and hitting a batter but his K-BB total was 5-0 and he recorded four groundball outs. The two Zachs finished things up on the hill for Auburn. Anderson gave up a run over two innings on four hits and two walks along with two K's while Outman bounced back from a rough outing Saturday with two perfect frames that included a strikeout and three groundouts.
Defence - Murphy was charged with a passed ball. Anderson picked off a runner. McQuail threw out a runner from right field.
Dunedin, FL - Two runs in the first was really all the Yankees needed but of course, they rubbed it in some more with four additional runs in the ninth. The G-Jays lone run came in their last at-bat.
Batting - Jake Marisnick was the lone bright light of the Jays offence with a double, two walks and a run scored. Andy Fermin, Gari Pena, Garrett Maines and Cody Lassley all had singles. Pena drove in the lone run. Ron Melendez and Chris Hawkins each drew a walk. K.C. Hobson and Carlos Ramirez were each 0-for-4.
Running - Nothing here in terms of stolen bases.
Pitching - Deivy Estrada took the loss as he gave up two runs on four hits (including a homer to Yankees prospect Gary Sanchez) and two walks over four innings. Daniel Barnes scattered two hits and a walk over 1 2/3 shutout innings while striking out four. Milciades Santana allowed one hit and struck out one in one scoreless inning and Matthew Morgal turned in a similar effort to Santana's with the only differences being a bases on balls and a wild pitch. The shutout relief work ended with Bryan Longpre, who surrendered four runs on three hits and two walks (one intentional) in two-thirds of an inning but he also struck out a man. Lefty Alex Pepe retired the only hitter he faced.
Defence - Yankees prospect Cito Culver stole a base against Lassley. Estrada picked off a runner at first. Marisnick threw out a runner at the plate.
