See what happens when the parent club loses 9-0?  It made me forget today was my day for the MLU!  My apologies for the lateness and I will be into the whole brevity thing as a result!  It was a 1-3 night for the North American affiliates and a .500 night in the Dominican.

Las Vegas 5 Tacoma 3

Tacoma, WA - J.P. Arencibia's three run homer in the eighth helped the 51's overcome a 3-2 deficit against the Mariners affiliate.  Lefty  Marc Rzepczynski went 6 2/3 innings where he gave up two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five and getting nine groundouts.  Southpaw Zach Jackson, despite giving up a run on two hits and a walk in one-third of an inning got the win.  Lefty Jesse Carlson got the first two outs of the eighth and Jeremy Accardo overcame two walks in 1 1/3 scoreless frames for the save.   Arencibia had two hits as did Brett Wallace, who was a hit by pitch and drove in a run.  Brian Dopirak had a hit and a plunk.  Of note for Tacoma, former Jays Chris Woodward had a homer, two hits and two RBI and Guillermo Quiroz had a double.

Akron 4 New Hampshire 3

Akron, OH - The Indians affiliate scored twice in the sixth and twice in the ninth to overcome a 3-0 deficit.   Manny Mayorson had two hits while Brian Jeroloman had a hit and, wait for it........two walks to put the BJBBM to 36.  Adam Loewen had a hit, a walk and an RBI and Eric Thames had a sac fly RBI.  Zach Stewart gave up just two unearned runs in 5 2/3 innings while giving up seven hits and posting a 4-3 K/BB ratio.  Trystan Magnuson pitched two scoreless frames, lefty Tim Collins struck out his only batter but Danny Farquhar was tagged with the loss while failing to get anyone out.

St. Lucie 4 Dunedin 3

Dunedin, FL - The D-Jays rallied to erase a 3-0 deficit against the Mets affiliate but gave up a run in the ninth to lose it.  Michael McDade was 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.  Kevin Ahrens went yard to account for the other Dunedin run.  Lefty Chuck Huggins gave up two homers and three runs in total over seven frames but scattered six hits, hit a batter and posted a nice K-BB ratio of 7-1.  Dumas Garcia took the loss in relief.  Alan Farina pitched 2/3 of a scoreless frame with one hit and a punchout.

Peoria 7 Lansing 4

Peoria, IL - The Lugnuts held a 4-1 lead but the Cubs affiliate put up six runs total in the third and fourth for the win.  Sean Ochinko and Ryan Schimpf hit a home run each while Kenny Wilson added a triple.  Ryan Shopshire gave up seven runs (five earned) in 4 2/3 innings while yielding six hits (including a homer), plunking a man and putting up a 3-3 K/BB total and recording six groundouts.  Lefty Evan Crawford, Chad Beck and southpaw Matt Wright combined for 3 2/3 innings of scoreless reilef.  Crawford and Beck were a combined 5-for-5 in not allowing inherited runners to score.
