Any idea what kind of odds I could get in Vegas predicting a Jays no-hitter this year?
Honestly, doesn't it seem like it's bound to happen at some point? When Romero struck out the side in the first, I, without a hint of irony, said to myself "here we go again". Alas, it died right about then but, with the exception of Eveland, I fully anticipate the possibility of a no-hitter every day now. It's a nice feeling.
In related news, a friend emailed me this morning and said "I need the jays to go on a 15 game losing streak to temper my excitement of these young guys". I couldn't agree more. I was fully prepared for 95 losses this year and a top five pick in the apparently stacked upper end of the 2011 draft. And while that is certainly still a very real possibility (like when the offense stops hitting like the '27 Yankees), this sqaud has certainly done an admirable job of silencing the "zomg, they're gonna lose 120" crowd.
In any event, I'm late getting this up and there's a game on. Currently 2-2 in the 6th.
