2-2 on Sunday for the affiliates. Horrible nights for the Fisher Cats and Lugnuts were offset by a great start from David Purcey and some big bats for the D-Jays.

Well would you look at that: An appearance from Good Purcey. And what an appearance at that. Purcey breezed through seven shutout innings, allowing just two walks and three hits against nine strikeouts. Things got a bit shaky in the 8th, though as Purcey left with two on and two out. In came Bryan Bullington who promptly gave up three straight hits and allow four runs to cross the plate. Jeremy Accardo then finished things off with a clean 1.1 innings.
At the plate, the 51s had ten hits, though only two for extra bases. David Dellucci and Aaron Mathews had two hits apiece while Russ Adams contributed with a triple. J.P. Arencibia was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and two strikeouts.
Not a good day for the Fisher Cats offense as they managed just three hits. One of those, however, was a two-run homer off the bat of Brian Jeroloman. Everyone else sucked.
On the mound was Brandon Magee who struggled mightily allowing six runs on seven hits in just three innings. Bubbie Buzachero picked him up with three innings of one-run ball but by that point the game was entirely out of reach.
The D-Jays won a slugfest in Charlotte thanks in large part to big nights from Kevin Ahrens and the rehabbing Scott Campbell. Ahrens was 2-for-5 with a double and his second homer of the season while Campbell went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Almost every D-Jay was in on the action, really. Darin Mastroianni had two hits, as did Matthew Liuzza who picked up a pair of doubles. Both Adam Loewen and Justin Jackson each doubled. Jackson also picked up a walk.
On the mound, Vincent Bongiovanni picked up his third win of the year thanks to five largely mediocre frames in which he allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks. Celson Polanco and Zach Dials then each provided two innings of one-run ball to hold onto the victory.
Manoman, this one was ugly. I'll spare you the majority of the details. The Lugnuts had three hits. One each from Tyler Pastornicky, Ryan McClanahan, and Mark Sobolewski. Pastornicky also stole a base and committed an error. Sobolewski botched one as well.
On the mound, Chad Beck started and sucked. He managed four innings of nine-run ball. Yorman Mayora then provided two innings of shutout ball. Hunter Moody allowed a run in his frame. Then Catcher Chris House made his pro pitching debut and allowed three runs in a five-hit ninth. House now had a 27.00 ERA to go along with his .056 batting average. Nice.
