It's always fun to read the reviews.
Here's the lads at SoSH while the game was unfolding:
"Good pitching matchup between Halladay and Byrd." - Remy
- Yea, right.
This game is going to be less easy than those Texas ones, isn't it?
Yes. Yes, it is.
If my team just scored 40 runs in three games the first thing I would do was change the lead off guy.
This sucks.
I miss the Rangers pitching staff
Patience, folks. They're wearing Halladay down with these 1-2 pitch ABs.
True, if we face him tomorrow too we might have a chance at scoring in the 8th or 9th.
I'm glad we didn't waste a Beckett start against Halladay.
11 more games againt the BJs. Somehow Halladay will start 8 of those games.
At least it's not a no-hitter.
Another shutout ruined. We can hold our heads high now.
It doesn't feel all that bad when you lose to one of the best. Get some sleep guys and come back tomorrow.
And here's Dustin Pedroia when it was over:
"He should make a pitching video."
Elsewhere - the Dodgers left fielder has changed his look.
Just a little, mind you.
Among the other pitchers who got their names in the W column were two who haven't been there quite as often in recent years: Pedro Martinez got his 4th win for the Mets, and Mike Hampton won his 2nd for the Braves. Some of you are probably too young to remember when Mike Hampton was really good...
The Braves are a mystifying 11 games under .500, despite scoring more runs than they've allowed. Pythagoras may not like the Jays, but he positively hates the Braves, who must be utterly bewildered at being 7.5 games behind the Marlins.
