John Parrish, Gus Chacin and Marc Rzepczynski delivered excellent starts and each team won.  New Hampshire were the victims of a perfect game for 7.1 innings and lost.  JP Arencibia had four RBI's.

Columbus 6  Syracuse 8

John Parrish was again terrific, one run and seven hits allowed over 6.2 innings.  The run and three of the hits came with two outs in the seventh as he tired.  Parrish's ERA is now 2.98  Brandon League pitched a scoreless eighth before giving up three runs in the ninth and being replaced by Mike Gosling who allowed two more of League's runners to score before getting the final out.

The Chiefs scored two runs in the fourth, Danny Sandoval doubled home Buck Coats and Hector Luna who had singled.  Adam Lind singled in a run in the fifth but Syracuse put it away with five runs in the sixth.  Sandoval and Cannon hit doubles, Eric Kratz, Wayne Lydon and Buck Coats singled, then Lind doubled in two more.

The Chiefs had fourteen hits, Coats had three, Sandoval, Lind and Kratz had two each.

Akron 7  New Hampshire 1

It's hard to win with only two hits.  New Hampshire had been pounding the ball but that ended in this game.  Ryan Edell, the Akron pitcher, was perfect through 7.1 innings when he walked Scott Campbell.  Eric Nielsen and Anthony Hatch followed with singles to give the Fisher Cats their only run.

Brandon Magee gave up three runs on three hits and three walks in the first inning, and conceded a single run in the second on two hits.  He then allowed just one hit over the next four innings.  Seth Overbey gave up three runs in two innings.

Dunedin 7  Fort Myers 2

Gustavo Chacin with his 7 plus ERA took on Twins prospect Deolis Guerra and Chacin came out on top.  Gus gave up one run in five innings for one of his best starts.  Guerra was gone in the second inning as the Jays scored seven runs off him.  In the first inning JP Arencibia followed two walks with a three run home run.  The Jays added another run in that inning, CJ Ebarb tripled and Adam Calderone singled.

In the second inning Dunedin loaded the bases on a hit batter, a walk and a double by Sean Shoffit.  Two runs scored on a ground ball by Arencibia which turned into an error.  The seventh run scored on a Brad Emaus single.

Reidier Gonzalez followed Chacin and pitched four innings allowing one run.

The Jays had ten hits, Shoffit had three and Emaus had two, Arencibia had four RBI's.

Lansing 4  South Bend 3

Marc Rzepczynski pitched a "good-un", he went six innings and gave up one run on five hits.  This was his sixth start, he has pitched 28.2 innings and has 26 K's against only five walks.

Lansing scored in the second inning, Moises Sierra led off with a single and scored on a two-out single by Wes Stone.  In the third Justin Jackson started with a double, Raul Barron bunted and the pitcher threw the ball away allowing Jackson to score and putting Barron on third.  CJ Ebarb hit a sac fly to make it 3-0.  The Lugnuts added a big insurance run in the eighth, Stone walked and scored on a two-out double by Eric Eiland.

Edgar Estanga made it interesting in the ninth, the first three hitters got on base and it was a 4-3 game with the tying run on base.  But Estanga got the next two outs then CJ Ebarb threw out the runner trying to steal second to end the game.

Lansing had nine hits, Sierra had three, Jackson and Stone had two each.
