Ismael Ramirez was taken off the 40 man roster earlier this week so of course he pitches his best game of the season on Saturday, one run allowed in five innings. Ty Taubenheim pitched a seven inning two hitter as the Chiefs sweep a doubleheader. New Hampshire score five runs in extra innings to win, Dunedin scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Lansing took the only loss on Saturday.
Columbus 0 Syracuse 4 - game 1
Ty Taubenheim pitched a two hit shutout, the seven inning variety, to get the win. The Chiefs scored in the first when Lydon bunted his way on and Adams singled him home. Eric Kratz doubled home two runs in the second and John-Ford Griffin homered for the third straight game in the fourth to make it 4-0.
Syracuse 8 Columbus 1 - game 2
Columbus were the home team for this game. Ismael Ramirez, fresh off the 40 man roster, pitched his best game of the season, five innings, one run, five hits. Justin James pitched the last two innings. Every starter had a hit, seven hitters scored a run, five drove in runs. Russ Adams went 3-4 with 3 RBI's.
New Hampshire 7 Erie 2 - 10 innings
Kurt Isenberg gave up two runs in five innings, he did allow seven hits and three walks. Jean Machi and Brandon League each pitched two innings in relief and the game headed to extra innings tied at 2. In the tenth Sergio Santos doubled with two out to drive in two runs, Rob Cosby singled to drive in Santos and Chip Cannon homered. Cosby was 4-5, Mayorson 3-5 and Diaz and Klosterman 2-4 each.
Dunedin scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth, a lead-off walk to Carlo Cota got things going. A single by Eric Nielsen, a passed ball and a Jacob Butler sac fly scored the winning run. Kristian Bell pitched seven strong innings, five hits allowed and two runs, no strikeouts though. Sean Stidfole and Seth Overbey pitched an inning each. Kyle Philips, Cory Patton and Eric Nielsen each had two hits.
Lansing trailed 6-2 in the third, fought their way back to a 7-6 lead after four but could not score again and lost. Kyle Ginley only lasted three inning and gave up six runs on seven hits. Po-Hsuan Keng took the loss in relief. Yuber Rodriguez and Brian Pettway each had two hits and two RBI's. Scott Campbell and Jon Jaspe also had two hits each.
