Three wins and no losses for the affiliates, all wins were come from behind efforts. Syracuse had to tie the game in the ninth and win it in the twelfth. New Hampshire went ahead in the seventh while Lansing scored seven runs in the fifth to turn around a 3-0 deficit. Michael MacDonald and Orlando Trias each made their first starts since being promoted and each had some learning to do.
Scranton WB 5 Syracuse 6 - 12 innings
Michael MacDonald made his AAA debut in this game and the first hitter reached on an error by John Hattig, welcome to AAA kid. MacDonald then retired ten hitters in a row before three singles in a row, and a ground out, gave Scranton two runs. Syracuse had scored a run in the first on back-to-back doubles by Russ Adams and Ryan Roberts off Yankee reject Colter Bean. The Chiefs added three runs in the second, two lead-off walks followed by a bunt single from Jeff Duncan loaded the bases. Wayne Lydon grounded out to second to score one run. Chris Britton replaced Bean but back-to-back singles by Adams and Roberts scored two more runs. Having allowed two runs in the fourth MacDonald gave up two more runs in the fifth and left with the scores tied 4-4. Scranton scored a run off Jamie Vermilyea in the seventh but Jamie was able to induce a double play to keep the score close. On to the bottom of the ninth and Russ Adams leads things off with a double off Jim Brower. One out later John-Ford Griffin singled to score Adams and tie the game. In the bottom of the twelfth John Hattig led off with a triple and scored on a sac fly by Rey Olmedo.
Russ Adams went 4-6 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI to improve his batting average to .255. Roberts, Griffin and Hattig each had two hits.
Orlando Trias made his AA debut and ended after 3.1 innings. Trias gave up six hits, four walks and four runs in his outing. New Hampshire started their comeback in the fourth, Chip Cannon walked, Aaron Mathews singled and later Dustin Majewski and Juan Peralta singled to each drive in a run. Bowie added a run off Jo Matumoto in the sixth to make the score 5-2. In the seventh, with one out, John Schneider was hit by a pitch, Chip Cannon doubled him home, David Smith walked, Dustin Majewski doubled home two runs to tie the game and Juan Peralta tripled to bring home the go ahead run. Tracey Thorpe and Lee Gronkiewicz recorded the last nine outs in a row.
Juan Peralta was 3-4 with two RBI's, Sergio Santos, Aaron Mathews and Dustin Majewski each had two hits. Mathews is hitting .337.
Dunedin at Vero Beach - postponed
Travis Snider got the day off as Chase Lirette started for Lansing. Three hitters in Lasning were down 2-0 thanks to a walk and a home run. Lirette gave up another run and Lansing were down 3-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth. With one Lansing went Gutierrez - walk; Shoffit - single; Pettway - walk; Liuzza - two run error; Emanuele - RBI single; Bell - RBI single; Lane - pop out; Yuber - 3 run home run; and it was 7-3 Lansing. Chris Reddout pitched two shutout innings and Paul Philips gave up one run in his two innings. Lansing had eight hits, Chris Emanuele went 3-4; Josh Bell 2-4.
