A shutout in Lansing, lost Appy opportunities, familiar disappointments for Syracuse and New Hampshire and rain led to a 1-3 Saturday night.

Buffalo @ Syracuse, ppd. rain

Bingamton 7 @ New Hampshire 1

David Purcey's struggles continued. He went 5.2 innings this time, and gave up 6 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks with 6 strikeouts. Chip Cannon hit his 22nd homer of the year, and David Smith doubled and singled, but this was a game best forgotten.

Dunedin 4 @ Tampa 11

How about we lead with the good news? Cory Patton and Ron Davenport hit late solo homers for the D'Jays. Christian Snavely singled three times in 4 trips. But, Russ Savickas got lit up good for 8 earned runs in 5 innings.

Lansing 4 @ West Michigan 0

Hector Delgadillo threw 6 shutout innings to lead the Lugnuts to victory. Delgadillo allowed 3 hits and walked one, while punching out 5. Ted Serro threw 2 shutout innings of relief, and Paul Phillips followed with a perfect ninth. Jacob Butler wielded the big bat, with two doubles, a single and a walk in 5 plate appearances. Butler drove in two runs, and also threw out a runner. Sean Shoffit singled, doubled and walked in four plate appearances, and scored twice. Yuber Rodriguez and Luke Hetherington pitched in with a couple of hits each.

Brooklyn @ Auburn, ppd. rain

Pulaski 0 @ Greeneville 1

Thirteen baserunners and no runs means an unhappy Saturdy night for the P'Jays. 4 double plays and a runner thrown out at the plate will do that to you. Francisco Mateo threw 4 shutout innings. He gave up 4 hits, walked nobody and struck out five. Joe Wice gave up the lone run in two innings of work, before Edgar Estanga and Jon Zinnicker followed with a perfect inning each. Raul Barron and Luis Fernandez each reached base 3 times. Travis Snider went 0-2.

3 stars

3rd star- Francisco Mateo
2nd star- Jacob Butler
1st star- Hector Delgadillo
