The Blue Jay farm chalks up 3 wins against 2 losses.
Syracuse: Scheduled off day.
David Purcey pitched 6 solid innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 3 walks, punching out 8. Ismael Ramirez returned from the DL to pitch 2 scoreless innings, 1 hit, 2 BB, 2 K.
Dustin Mejewski headed up the attack with 3 hits and a walk out of the leadoff spot. Curtis Thigpen, Adam Lind, and 2B Tim Olson all had 2 hits apiece, Lind smacking his league-leading 17th homer.
Ryan Patterson drove in 6 on the strength of 2 homers, and Ryan Klosterman also went deep as part of a 3-hit night. Aaron Mathews and Cory Patton had two base knocks each. Danny Core, Daryl Harang, and Paul Phillips were lit up; Connor Falkenbach kept things in check over the final 1 2/3.
The Lugnuts totaled 13 hits but didn’t score until the 7th inning. That was good enough for Aaron Tressler, who turned in 6 1/3 shutout innings (4 hits, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts) and was capably relieved by Brad Mumma and Eddy Rodriguez.
Joey Metropoulos had the only extra-base hit for Lansing, a 2-run homer in the ninth. Big City was joined by Jason Armstrong, Jacob Butler, and David Hicks in the 2-hit circle.
Dealin’ Zach Dials had Lowell spinning for 5 innings on 3 singles, no free passes and one whiff. Wilfreddy Aguirre followed with 2 innings and 1 run, and shutout innings from John Tritz and Scott Byrnes put it in the books.
The Doubledays scored their 5 on just 7 base hits. 1B Luke Hopkins was the most notable, with 2 doubles. 2B Scott Campbell had a hit and 3 walks out of the leadoff spot, while RF Shawn Scobee had 2 bases on balls and 1 on a hit.
A perfect night for RF Travis Snider, as hit went 2-for-2 with a double and 2 walks, but his supporting cast was forgettable outside of 3B Jonathan Del Campo, who blasted the first homer of his professional career in his first game.
Reidier Gonzalez started and went an uninspired 5 innings (4 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits and 2 walks, 3 struck out). Eddy Estanga was tagged with the loss for allowing a 2-run homer in the ninth.

The Second Star: Travis Snider, Pulaski. 4 times up, 4 times on base.
