The affiliates went 2-2 on the night with a NH rainout.
The Chiefs bats were quiet yesterday as Syracuse just had five hits. The Chiefs, down 4-0, mounted a comeback in the bottom of the 8th loading the bases on a double by Phillips, walk by Hattig and a Rob Cosby single to load the bases. Ryan Roberts then grounded into a 5-4-3 double play with the bases loaded and Lydon grounded out to end the inning.
Rosario got the start for Syracuse. He gave up 4 runs and 9 hits (7 singles and 2 doubles) in 6 innings, but struck out 8 and walked no Bulls.
New Hampshire - Rain Out
Orlando Trias pitched 5 1/3 strong innings for the Jays allowing just 5 baserunners and striking out 6. Dunedin banged out 12 hits on the night with Davenport, Neilsen, Diaz, and Matthews each having 2 hits.
Lansing 2 at Quad Cities 4 (game 1). Lansing 6 at Quad Cities 1 (game 2)
In the first game the Nuts had just 4 hits (and 4 errors, ouch!). Brian Pettway had the big hit with a 2 run HR in the 1st inning. AJ Wideman started for Lansing and gave up 2 runs over 5 innings striking out 4 and walking 2.
Game two saw Chi-Hung Cheng take the mound. Cheng gave up a home run for Quad City's only run, and struck out 4 in 5 innings. Anthony Hatch had 2 doubles in 3 ABs, and Anthony Garibaldi also had two hits (I was dying for another Anthony on this team so I could make a Tony, Toni, Tone has done it again reference - wait, I already did!).
Three Stars!
3 - Brian Pettway
2 - Anthony Hatch
1 - Orlando Trias
