A couple of walks in the sixth led to three runs for the home team: Francisco Rosario took the loss despite not actually giving up a run. Brandon League let both inherited runners score, then let another one of his cross the plate. Rosario's line was 5.1 IP, 2 H, those two runs, 4 BB and 5 K. Wayne Lydon homered for the two Syracuse runs for his third of the year -- one more HR than his 2005 total.
Sarasota 8 @ Dunedin 6
A 3-for-4 night from Ryan Klosterman highlighted the offense in a losing cause for the D-Jays. He had a three-run homer in the fourth, a solo shot in the sixth, and a single that didn't do as much damage. Still, a nice night for the shortstop. Orlando Trias started; 10 hits and six runs later, he was gone.
Beloit 6 @ Lansing 1
David Hicks was the only hitter of note, driving in the lone run as part of a three-hit night. The Lugnuts left 11 men on base: five different innings ended with a runner on second or third. A.J. Wideman continued his lots of K's, lots of hits start to the 2006 season with 7 and 6, respectively, in 5.2 innings. Yesson Berroa struck out four in his two innings of relief.

early part of the minor league season on the status of last year's
