Detroit Stops Short: Tigers Fire Trammell

The offseason managerial axe has fallen for the first time, less than 24 hours into that selfsame offseason: The Detroit Tigers have fired Alan Trammell, one of the great players in the team's history.

Which begs the following questions:

• Do great players get a "break" from their hometown teams in this situation and last longer than they should?
• Who's next on the chopping block?
• What's next for the Motor City Kitties?

And here's to Tram, the greatest shortstop in the long and storied history of a great franchise.
