I had many years that I was not so successful as a ballplayer, as it is a game of skill. And then I was no doubt discharged by baseball in which I had to go back to the minor leagues as a manager, and after being in the minor leagues as a manager, I became a major league manager in several cities and was discharged, we call it "discharged," because there is no question I had to leave.

Atlanta and Washington both lost, so they continue their lockstepped dead heat atop the NL East.

Minnesota lost and Oakland won (yawn), so the AL Wild Card is also tied.

A.J. Burnett pitched his 7th win and slammed his 1st homer (third of his career), but the outstanding pitching performance of the day was turned in by Kris Benson of the Mets, who threw 8 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits.

Who's hot? How about Miguel Cabrera, since the break: .488, .533, 1.024.
