For some reason, the outside of RFK reminds me of the Saddledome.
Now, while I found a lot to like about RFK, it was not without flaws. Let's talk about the Washington Nationals Team Store:
Yes, their team store is a double-wide trailer out in the parking lot. And while that's pretty funny on its own, I had a great conversation with a clerk about how impossible it is for them to keep merchandise on the shelves -- not only is it selling well, but management keeps making bizarre stocking decisions. For instance, one of the hottest items is the New Era fitted team cap. Heck, Mrs. Hank and I both bought one, but it took me forever to find my size because they were out or almost out of any size above 7 1/4. According to the sales clerk I was talking to, it wouldn't be a problem if they'd just order more of the most popular sizes, but instead they keep placing the same order with New Era over and over again for the same number of hats in each size, and as a result, again according to this clerk, they have thousands of 7 1/8 caps sitting in a warehouse and still no 7 1/2 caps on the shelves, and management doesn't want to place a new order because they have so much existing stock.
As I mentioned yesterday, when we first saw the mascot on the big screen we thought he was a fuzzy baby chicken:
We were later informed that he is, in fact, an eagle.
Tomorrow I'll talk food and a bunch of other stuff!
