A 7 run outburst in the 3rd inning highlighted by the first of two John-ford Griffin homers set the Sky Chiefs on their merry way. Julius Matos had 3 hits, while Gabe Gross and Chad Mottola both singled and doubled. Chad Gaudin started and went 6 very good innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits and no walks, while punching out 6. Gaudin upped his record to 3-1, with a 2.41 ERA. Mike Nannini held the Clippers in check to record the long save.

Vito Chiaravalloti hit a walkoff homer with nobody out in the 13th inning to give the Fisher Cats the victory. Vince Perkins started and allowed an earned run in 5 innings on 1 hit and 3 walks with 4 strikeouts. Steve Andrade, Jordan De Jong, Lee Gronkiewicz and Ryan Houston threw a combined 8 shutout innings and allowed only 3 hits. Pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is. The Cats' defence turned 4 double plays to help out the pitchers. Gregg Zaun doubled in 3 trips in the 1st game of his rehab assignment.

Ryan Roberts' 3 run homer in the 8th inning, his 8th of the season, brought the D-Jays back from a 3-1 deficit. Dunedin went on to score 3 more runs in the inning to put the game away. Zach Jackson started and was fine again, going 8 innings for his 7th win against 1 defeat. Jackson allowed 3 runs, 2 earned on 8 hits, including a homer, and no walks with 7 strikeouts. Brian Reed pitched a perfect ninth inning. Clint Johnston and Robinson Diaz had 3 hits each, while Adam Lind took an 0 fer, but did draw a walk in the 8th inning.

Canadian A.J. Wideman pitched very well, but a single, a walk, a hit batter and a bases-clearing double in the 2nd inning cost him dearly. Wideman went 6 innings, and allowed those 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5. Po-Hsuan Keng came on and surrendered the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Keng went 2 innings and allowed 1 earned run on 1 hit and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts. Ryan Klosterman was the hitting star for the Lugnuts with a triple, 2 walks and a stolen base. Curtis Thigpen singled and walked in 5 trips, while Jason Armstrong singled twice. Cory Patton walked twice, but was put out twice on the basepaths.
