The Sky Chief bats slumbered on Saturday. John-ford Griffin and Chad Mottola each singled and walked, and Bryant Nelson hit a solo homer in the ninth off Colter Bean, but that was about it. Somehow the Chiefs managed to 5 double plays despite having only 10 baserunners. Ryan Glynn started, went 5.1 innings and was touched for all 5 Clippers' runs. Adrian Burnside and Jason Arnold finished up neatly. Aaron Hill took a rare 0 fer with 2 strikeouts.

It was raining in Altoona, and Shaun Marcum had his least satisfying start of the year, 3 innings, 2 earned runs on 6 hits and no walks, with 3 strikeouts, before the rains stopped play. Josue Matos took over and threw 5 good innings, striking out 7, but gave up the game-breaking run in the 7th inning. Kevin Barker reached base 3 times, while Raul Tablado and Rob Cosby each doubled and scored.

The D-Jays banged out 16 hits en route to an easy victory. Jayce Tingler, Ryan Roberts and Robinson Diaz led the hit parade with 3 each. Clint Johnston homered, singled and walked and drove in 2. Casey Janssen made a fine debut in the FSL. He went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, 1 earned on 7 hits and no walks with 6 strikeouts. Davis Romero who was demoted to the bullpen to make room for Janssen threw 2 scoreless innings of relief, striking out 3.

An unearned run in the 7th inning was the difference as the Lugs lost their 4th straight. The infield was in with a runner on third and one out. A ground ball to shortstop Ryan Klosterman was fielded cleanly, but his throw to catcher David Corrente was dropped and the run scored. Juan Perez started and went 5.2 serviceable innings, 4 runs, 2 earned on 6 hits and 3 walks, with 3 strikeouts. Jeremy Harper struck out 3 and walked nobody in 3.1 fine relief innings. Jason Armstrong drove in two runs with singles, and the Lugnuts drew six walks in the game.
