After the holiday break, the winter leaguers returned to action. Ismael Ramirez got back on track with a solid start (5.2IP, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 W, 3K).

Here are the season stats for the hitters:

Player PA BA/OBP/SLUG
Negron 121 .225/.352/.314
Cosby 100 .261/.320/.413
Quiroz 134 .237/.367/.474

Ismael Ramirez has pitched a solid 43.1 innings over the season, surrendering 36 hits including 2 homers and 9 walks, while striking out 38. Lee Gronkiewicz arrived late to Puerto Rico, but is pitching very well for Mayaguez, allowing only 3 hits and 3 intenional walks while striking out 5 in 7.1 innings. Ryan Glynn and Matt Whiteside are surviving in an extreme hitter's environment for Hermosillo in the Mexican League.

For those of us stuck in this weather experiment gone horribly awry, which we call Toronto, thoughts of ballgames in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela are just the tonic.
