Jays Roundup - What a Catalyst You Turned Out To Be

Loaded the guns then you run off home for your tea
Left me standing, like a naughty schoolboy.
- Turns out we may have been misled by a story yesterday. In "No SkyDome sale pending, Godfrey says" Allan Ryan reports that:
Paul Godfrey, president and CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays, denied a report yesterday that team owner Rogers Communications is about to purchase SkyDome.
"Nothing that I'm hearing about," said Godfrey, of the off-and-on talks between Rogers and Chicago-based SkyDome owner, Sportsco International.
And that's "ongoing" as in for nearly four years, neither side ever apparently getting close to agreeing upon what the 15-year-old facility — built at a cost of more than $600 million — is worth today.
Oh well
That's it for Jays news.
To garner discussion, I'm having a contest
Batter's Box: Make a Trade That Benefits Both Teams Contest
The idea is simple: Can you come up with a trade proposal between two major league clubs that would benefit both teams? It doesn't have to involve the Jays. Look for minor leaguers that are trapped behind veterans, players that a team has soured on, or guys just needing a fresh start. It's not a prediction contest; entries won't be based on criteria like "Omar Minaya would never do that". All entries will be judged by me on the basis on how much it helps both teams.
Thus make your entry as follows:
---
Toronto Trades Anita Bath to Texas for Amanda Hugginkiss
Toronto Gains Because: Anita Bath was never going to get any playing time behind Maya Butreeks. Besides, who couldn't use Amanda Hugginkiss?
Texas Gains Because: Although Amanda Hugginkiss is valuable, Texas could use the veteran wisdom of Anita Bath.
---
I promise not to make any disparaging comments about your entry. I can't promise the same thing from the other Bauxites. :)
Have fun!
