Rochester 6 @ Syracuse 13
Syracuse laid a good old-fashioned pounding on the Red Wings, leading 12-2 by the end of the 3rd inning. Eric Crozier (3 hits, 2 doubles, 4 RBI) and Guillermo Quiroz (3 hits, 1 double, 1 homer, 3 RBI) swung the heaviest lumber. 4 other SkyChiefs had two hits apiece (Adams, Matos, Clark, Sanders). Leadoff man Anton French was content with just one hit, reaching base 3 other times via the base on balls.
Gustavo Chacin was reasonably effective in his Triple-A debut, going 5 innings and allowing 3 runs (1 unearned) on 7 hits. Very nice to see in his line is 6 strikeouts against 1 walk. The Severe Beating Of Adam Peterson continued as he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs in… zero innings. Talley Haines had a nice 3-inning stint, 3 hits and a run, 3/0 K/BB.

New Hampshire – Off Day
Dunedin 1 @ Clearwater 3
A solid start for Ismael Ramirez against the Threshers as he went 6 innings allowing 3 runs, 4 hits, no walks, 4 Ks. Felix Romero followed with 2 shutout innings of relief. LF Jayce Tingler (double & walk) and 3B Carlo Cota (single & double) were the best Jay hitters on a night when the lineup was good for only 5 hits.

Charleston 5 @ Lakewood 3
A big night for DH Joey Reiman against the BlueClaws as he rattled off 4 hits including a double and a triple. CF David Smith and RF Rodney Medina each chipped in with 2 singles. C Robinzon Diaz had an off night, taking an oh-fer.
Erik Rico had an effective but short start, going 4 innings and allowing 2 unearned runs. Jeremy Harper turned in 3 innings of 2-hit relief and was rewarded with a W.

Auburn 1 @ Batavia 2 (11 innings)
Only 6 hits for the Doubledays off Muckdog pitching. 2B Brian Hall led the way with a double and 2 walks, while 1B Joey Metropoulos was the only Auburn player with 2 hits. Chip Cannon pinched but didn’t hit, while Curtis Thigpen stayed on the pine.
Chris Leonard got the start and went a strong 5 frames, allowing just a solitary, unearned run on 4 hits and 2 walks. Leonard punched out 4 Batavia batters. Danny Hill was the best of 3 relievers, going 2 innings and allowing only one hit while striking out 2.

Pulaski 15 @ Bristol 16 (10 innings)
Lots of offence in a wild & woolly one at Bristol, as the Blue Jays and White Sox scored in 15 of 20 half-innings. This included 4 runs for the White Sox in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up at 14 and send the game to extras. Pulaski recaptured the lead with a run in the 10th, but Bristol bounced back with a deuce for the win.
DH Nick Thomas, C Brian Bormaster, and LF Luke Hetherington all homered and singled for Pulaski. 1B Dave Hicks and C Joshua Lex also had two hits each. LF Jon Ashford tripled and walked. The defence was porous, as SS Eugenio Velez and CF Yuber Rodriguez each committed errors and 3B Anthony Garibaldi was charged with 2. Bristol added 3 miscues.
Ben Harrison was the only Pulaski pitcher to not give up multiple runs, as he held the Sox to 1 hit and 1 walk in his inning of work. The key to his success was in not trusting the defence; he got all three of his outs by strikeout. Russ Savickas, Raymon Sanchez, Edwards Rodriguez, Mike Rider, and Bryan Gale were all knocked around as the staff conceded 8 walks and 3 dingers while striking out 7.
