Ryan Glynn had his best start of the year, a nine inning complete game with only five hits allowed. Glynn had nine strikeouts while only needing 87 pitches.
The Chiefs scored their first run on a home run from Anthony Sanders in the second inning. Howie Clark jacked another in the seventh, and the Chiefs tacked on four more in the seventh and eighth. Syracuse had only six hits in the game.

Manager Mike Basso is probably upset that the Fisher Cats did not win both ends of the doubleheader, they could have won both. On the other hand when your relievers cough up the lead three times in save situations you feel lucky to win one.
Francisco Rosario started the first game and pitched into the fifth, he was not as dominating as he was last time out. He did give up two runs in the fourth inning on three hits and a walk. Rosario's final line was 4.1 innings, four hits, two walks and two K's.
John Hattig hit a home run to get the Cats oin the board in the sixth inning. That home run was followed by a Mikael Jova single and a Paul Chiaffredo double to tie the game. As this was a doubleheader each game was scheduled for seven innings, so when the Cats took the lead in the top of the seventh they were in line for the win. The Cats scored on a double from Dominic Rich, a single from Aaron Hill and a sac fly from Hattig.
Jamie Vermilyea had pitched the sixth and returned for the seventh. The New Britain lead-off hitter reached on a bunt single. Another single and a walk and the bases were loaded. Incidently this is a couple of times now that opponents have bunted successfully against Vermilyea, he might need to work on his defense. Jordan DeJong was summoned to get out of the jam. DeJong hit the first hitter he faced to tie the game then, for good measure, hit the next hitter also to give New Britain the win.
Dominic Rich, Aaron Hill and Mikael Jova each had two hits in the first game.
Jason Arnold started game two to continue his rehab. Arnold allowed just one run in his five innings on one hit. He did not walk anyone but had only one K. New Hampshire came in to the seventh, and possibly the final inning, down 1-0. Hattig singled, Singleton reached on an error, Mike Snyder drove in both runners to give New Hampshire the lead. Tyrell Godwin singled in Snyder to make it a 3-1 game. Kip Bouknight who had pitched the sixth gave up a lead off single in the seventh. Ryan Houston came on to pitch and could do no better, and a passed ball tied the game for New Britain.
Aaron Hill led off the eighth and took control of the game. Hill, John Ford Griffin and Mikael Jova all doubled to give the Cats a 5-3 lead. Jordan DeJong was summoned from the pen for his second chance at a save on the day. His second chance was no better than the first, three hits later the game was tied again. In the ninth Hill came to bat with a runner on second and he promptly tripled to untie the game. Griffin singled to drive him in.
Now it was up to Travis Thompson, who has had a rough year, to get the save. Thompson came through with a three up, three down inning to record his first save.
In the nightcap Hill was 3-4, and over the two games Hill went 5-6 with two walks, a double and a triple. Also in game two Griffin had three hits.

All of Charleston's runs came via the long ball. Joey Reiman hit a two run shot in the first inning and Clint Johnston hit another two run shot in the sixth.
Mike McDonald gave up a three run home run in the third, but all runs were unearned due to an error. He went five innings with five hits allowed and one walk. Joaquin Canizal came on in the sixth with a 4-3 lead but coughed up a couple from which the Alley-Cats could not recover.
Clint Johnston had three of Charleston's six hits.

Game one was the continuation of a suspended game. Juan Perez had started but only pitched one inning before the game was suspended. David Purcey replaced him, making his professional debut. Purcey pitched three innings giving up two runs in his third inning. Purcey gave up four hits and no walks while striking out four.
Although the Doubledays were down 3-1 when he left the game Purcey benefitted from Auburn's offense as they scored ten runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth. Eric Nielsen had the big bat, 2-4 with a triple and a home run and five RBI's. Aaron Mathews had three hits.
In the nightcap Juan Perez started giving him two statistical starts in one day. Perez pitched the full seven innings with six hits and one run allowed. Brian Hall had three hits in game two.
Auburn now have a fourteen and a half games lead with two weeks to go, so they are guaranteed a playoff spot.
Pulaski 1 Bristol 2 - in 14 innings
Pulaski registered seven hits over 14 innings, that level of hitting does not win too many games. Pulaski scored in the fifth, Bristol answered in the sixth and that was it until the fourteenth. Pulaski's run came when doubled home Luke Hetherington. Pulaski hitters registered nineteen K's in the game.
Jordan Timm had a good start, five and a third innings, one run, six hits and no walks. Eddie Cannon, Daryl Harang and Aaron Tressler delivered eight innings of scoreless relief, until the fourteenth. Tressler struck out five of the seven hitters he retired, but in the fourteenth he allowed two walks and then Eugenio Velez made an error to end the game.

Pulaski were 2-4 for the week and have started 34-25 and are in second place, a half game behind Danville
Combined the Jays minor league teams were 21-18 for the week and their record is 352-271, a .565 winning percentage.
