A couple of eighth inning rallies to break 3-3 ties and a Pulaski whitewash were the highlights of a 3-2 Saturday night for the farm affiliates.

The Sky Chiefs could not hold a 5-4 lead in the 9th, as the Bisons scored 5 off Bob File, with ex-Jay Sandy Martinez' second homer of the game the big blow of the inning. Josue Matos struggled for 5.2 innings, allowing 7 hits, including 2 homers, and 5 walks. Dave Maurer pitched 1.2 solid set-up innings before it all came apart. Guillermo Quiroz singled and homered in 5 trips, while Danny Solano, newly promoted from New Hampshire in place of Glenn Williams, reached base 3 times. Russ Adams reached base twice on an HBP and a walk.

The Fisher Cats could manage only 3 hits on the evening in the shutout. Brandon League started and pitched well. He went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8. Derek Lee surrendered the other 2 runs without retiring a batter. Jordy Templet, also newly promoted, pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief. Tyrell Godwin had 2 of the Fisher Cats hits and Maikel Jova the other. Aaron Hill and John-ford Griffin each went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts.

The Alley-Cats scored 2 runs in the eighth inning on a bases loaded walk to Jermy Acey anda a Juan Peralta sacrifice fly to break a 3-3 tie. Christian Snavely was the hitting hero with a single, homer and a walk in 4 plate appearances. Joey Reiman also had 2 hits. Danny Core started and hung around for the win, going 7 innings. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, with 2 strikeouts. Joaquin Canizal went the last 2 innings for the save, allowing 1 run and 4 baserunners, while punching out 2.

Chip Cannon's 2 run homer in the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie. Chris Leonard started and ptiched very well, going 6.1 innings and allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, with 7 strikeouts. Kristian Bell vultured the win, allowing an inherited run to score in the 7th and one of his own in the 8th. Jayson Rodriguez earned the save despite allowing an unearned run after a Ryan Klosterman error in the ninth. Adam Lind doubled twice and Curtis Thigpen singled and walked. Klosterman had a rough night, going 0-5 in addtion to the error. Jason Armstrong played second base in place of Brian Hall and went 2-2 with a walk.

After being held off the scoresheet for the first 2 innings, the P-Jays erupted for 15 runs in the next six with at least one in each. Luke Hetherington drove in six with a grand slam and a 2 run single. David Hicks doubled twice and tripled and is now batting a tidy .407. Yuber Rodriguez also homered, and Nick Thomas reached base 4 times. The pitchers had a little punch-out party of their own. Yesson Berroa started and went 3 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 6. Daryl Harang went 3 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 4. Adrian Martin mustered only 1 strikeout in 1 scoreless inning, while Box favourite James Pidutti upped the ante by striking out 4 in 2 scoreless innings of work to close it out.
