The bluebirds had an off-day yesterday, so there's no game action to report.
- Dave Perkins of the Star says what many of us have been thinking in "Cheek in need of a prayer: Jays announcer has brain tumour". Between this and the loss of his father, this must be an incredibly difficult time in Mr. Cheek's life, but I know he has the strength and dignity to make it through it. If you haven't already, you can send your thoughts to Tom in our Tom Cheek: Best Wishes thread.
- The Jays start the first of a three game series tonight in San Francisco. Tonight's 10:05 PM EST matchup features the 7-2 Jason Schmidt for the 32-31 Giants vs. the 4-4 Miguel Batista for the 28-35 Blue Jays. Spencer Fordin has a lengthy game preview. The Canadian Press also has a game preview. Bob Elliott is not very optimistic in his series preview.
- Geoff Baker talks to Bob File in "Degree or not degree? Jays trio knows". After two years of injuries, it's good to see File in a Jays in uniform again. We're all rooting for you, Bob!
- Another recent callup from Syracuse is looking good as well. After a couple weeks of struggles, Alex Rios turned it up a notch this weekend and had a few impressive hits. Shi Davidi talks to the rookie in "Young Jay is okay".
