Charlotte 1 Syracuse 4
This was a tight well pitched game. Josue Matos produced his best start of the year and the Syracuse bullpen were super. Ryan Kohlmeier pitched well for Charlotte.
The Chiefs got on the board in the second inning. Noah Hall and Jeff Guiel singled, and Stubby Clapp doubled Hall home. Charlotte tied it in the third, but Paul Chiaffredo hit a home run on the 13th pitch of the at-bat to put the Chiefs ahead to stay in the fifth.
In the eighth Jeff Gueil hit a two run home run to ease the pressure on the bullpen. The pen did a great job. Talley Haines, Mike Nakamura and Kevin Frederick pitched four innings without allowing a hit or a walk.
Russ Adams was 0-4 with a walk; Gabe Gross also was 0-4. Matos's line was 5 IP, 4 2 6 and 1 ER

The rain that delayed the start of the Cats game last night also cooled off their bats. NH could only muster three hits, two of them by Justin Singleton. Cam Reimers had a shaky first inning that was not helped by two Fisher Cat errors. Reimers hit a batter, unleashed a wild pitch, and gave up three hits to give New Britain four early runs. That was the game. Reimers line was 7 IP, 10, 0, 6, 6 R, 4ER.

Justin Speier started and allowed a home run to the first hitter. Speier pitched one inning without further damage. Neomar Flores took over and scuffled through four innings. Flores put eight men on in his four innings and gave up two runs.
Trailing 3-0 in the fifth, seven of the first eight hitters reached base for Dunedin. Chris Woodward was the exception, he had a sac fly. Dunedin scored six and a Raul Tablado home run made it 7-3 in the seventh. Tracy Thorpe pitched 2.2 solid innings in relief and Bubbie Buzachero recorded the last four outs, three via strikeout. Woody was 0-2; Carlo Cota went 2-3 to raise his average
Charleston 8 Hickory 3
Charleston scored first with two runs in the second. Joey Reiman singled to score David Smith and Mike Galloway. Ramon Mora started well and had a no-hitter through three innings. However the first four Hickory batters reached in the fourth and the Cats were down 3-2.
Charleston loaded the bases in the seventh on a walk, an error and a failed fielders choice. A gound out, a sac fly and a single produced three runs to give the lead nback to the Cats. Charleston added one more in the eighth and two in the ninth on a home run by Smith. Mora pitched seven innings with four hits and three walks for the win.
