Break out the champagne! Alexis Rios had four hits; Josh Banks had eleven strikeouts and the organization had a winning night.
Richmond 4 Syracuse 9
Syracuse entered this game on a four game losing streak, and having won only two of their last fourteen games. Josh Towers was asked to stop the bleeding. Towers went six scoreless innings and left with a two run lead. In the fourth Rios doubled and scored on a single by the newest Chief Marvin Benard. Gabe Gross was back in the lineup after elbow problems and he singled to drive in Benard.
Mike Smith started the seventh in relief and promptly allowed Richmond to tie the game. But the Chiefs got it right back in the bottom of the inning. Russ Adams doubled, Shawn Fagan walked and Glenn Williams tripled them both home. Howie Clark drove in Williams to make it 5-2. Smith and Bob File gave one back in the eighth but Benard hit a three run home run in the eighth to seal the win.
Benard was 2-5 with four RBI's on his Chiefs debut. Gabe Gross 1-3 with a walk. Russ Adams was 2-5 with a double. Rios went 4-5 with a double. Last night on the Fan JP said that Jorge Sequea has a pulled quad and will be out for three weeks.

Reading 3 New Hampshire 2
Cam Reimers started for the Cats coming off four straight quality starts. He delivered another quality start last night but it was not enough to get the win. Reimers allowed three runs in seven innings on nine hits and no walks. Reimers had only one strikeout. Reimers left after seven with the Cats trailing 3-0. NH had some chances early. They had a runner on third in each of the first three ininngs but could not get one in. In the first Tyrell Godwin was caught stealing and that was big when Dominic Rich tripled right after.
New Hampshire did score two in the eighth. Godwin tripled and Danny Solano hit a home run. Stubby Clapp had a pinch hit double with two out in the ninth but again the Cats could not capitalize.
Godwin was 3-4 with the triple, Aaron Hill was 0-4, Rich 2-4 with a double and a triple.

Dunedin 5 Sarasota 1
Josh Banks brought the hammer last night. Banks went six innings and allowed three hits with no walks and eleven K's. Banks did allow the first run on a double, a wild pitch and a passed ball. That was the last time Sarasota were in the game. In the third Dunedin tied the game when Jayce Tingler scored on a sac fly from Vito. In the fourth Dunedin capitalized on three hits and three walks to score three runs. After that it was cruise control for Dunedin. Tracy Thorpe pitched two perfect innings and Buzachero pitched the ninth.
