When Monday comes around
She'll turn once more to Sunday's clown
And cry behind the door
- Fordin Notes: "Let's get started". My thoughts exactly!
- If you missed our big conversation yesterday, then you might not know that "Jays get righty Frasor for Werth". Apparently Werth was too much like Vernon Wells. Here's CP's take.
- Richard Griffin's headline writer asks "Was Jay trade Werth it?". A quote: "The trade serves to demonstrate that Ricciardi maintains a realistic view of the Jays '04 possibilities, repeating the modest hope of "playing significant games in September." If Ricciardi were maintaining a harder-edged, win-at-all-costs outlook, Werth would have stayed." Ten bucks says if the Jays acquired a Werth type player, Griffin would flat out say "A bad move. He strikes out too much".
- With the trade a Canadian gained a roster spot, as Fordin reports in "An opportunity knocks for Pond".
- Larry Millson of the Globe has more info on the Canadian in "B.C.'s Pond makes the jump, but he sees it as only a step".
- The Star has CP's "Jays add Canadian content" on Simon Pond. They also have a similar story titled "Mission accomplished".
- My Magic 8-Ball lied to me yesterday. The Jays managed to beat up on the Red Sox by a score of 13-8. Hinske with 2 homeruns. Today it's Chris Baker vs. the Reds. When asked if the Jays will win, Magic 8-ball says "Signs point to yes".
In sad news The Yankees won 12-1.
Anyone else tried out the Homestar Runner RPG demo for the Atari 2600?
