Hitting: Third baseman Tony Zuniga had two hits, including his first home run of the season, and drove in three. Struggling first baseman Shawn Fagan took the collar in six trips and is now hitting .136/.167/.182.
Pitching: Vinny Chulk gave up three runs (two earned) in five innings, striking out two. Jason Kershner continued to impress in relief, throwing three innings of one-hit ball with 4 Ks. His numbers thus far: 8 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 13 K.

New Haven 8 Norwich 4
Hitting: Red-hot catching prospect Guillermo Quiroz went 3-for-4 with his fourth homer, driving in three. The former bonus baby with the rifle arm is now hitting .308/.379/.769 in his first 26 AB. Centrefielder Justin Singleton posted a 4-2-2-2 line and is now batting .320.
Pitching: Pete Bauer threw five solid innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks, K’ing 2. Reliever Dan Jackson continued to struggle, allowing three runs in an inning of work to drive his ERA up to 15.00.
High-A
Dunedin 4, Vero Beach 2
Hitting: Centrefielder Tyrell Godwin had two hits and scored twice, improving his early-season average to .271; however, in 48 at-bats, he has exactly zero walks. Second baseman Manual Mayorson had three hits.
Pitching: Top prospect David Bush bounced back from a tough outing to throw six innings of two-hit, one-unearned run ball; he only struck out two, however. Jordan DeJong struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning. Yahoo!

Charleston 5, Lexington 3
Hitting: Left fielder and leadoff man Rodney Medina continued to impress, banging out a single, two doubles and a homer and bringing his totals to .351/.368/.649. Second baseman Brad Hassey (yup, Ron’s kid) had two hits, scored one and drove in another.
Pitching: 2001 high school draftee Brandon (Major) League threw six shutout innings of two-hit, no-walk ball before tiring, and finished with 7 IP, 3 H, 1 BB and 6 Ks. In 17 innings, League has allowed 11 hits and 5 walks, whiffing 13.
